Google Will Shut Down Google Plus After User Information Was Exposed October 8, 2018 by dshep [Comment to New York Times article.] I started using the Google search engine not long after it hit the street. I introduced it to the university where I was working at the time doing website design. I had used Alta Vista for years and it was a piece of junk. Google would actually give you what you asked it to. What an amazing concept. I signed up for Google+ when I first heard about it, but I found it confusing, disorganized and not much of a social media site. I tried but ended up not using it. The other thing that bothered me about Google is that it kept pestering me for my phone number, under the guise that I couldn’t be really safe online with giving it to them, same as Facebook. Google used to have a motto “Do no evil,” or something like that. They scrapped it some time back. And now this security breach with no notice to those possibly affected. Anything they can get away with now.
